Jekerkwartier I - the soap factory
We carried out the restoration of Edmond Hustinx’s former home and workshop, a property built in the 1700s. The property served as his home, a soap factory, and his laboratory. Our work included internal renovation and restrcutring of the space, as well as exrernal restoriation for use as a private residence:
︎refurbishing the kitchen using existing cupboards from the 1980s
︎full renovation of the bathroom
︎building a loft for additional bedroom
︎installing heat pumps and solar panels
︎installing electric connections
︎isntalling wooden floors in the living and sleeping space
︎installing stone flooring in the ktichen and floor heating
︎building a wooden staircasee
︎refurbishing old windows and doors, and where necessary installing new windoes
︎restoration of the exterior walls on the side of the gracht for improved isolation and water management
